Mantis shrimp
The mantis shrimp (Squilla mantis), a predatory crustacean from the Stomatopoda order with a short shell, long abdomen and wide tail fan. It is yellow and 20 cm long.

The first five pairs of thoracic legs are attached to its mouth, whilst the second pair on the last segment has sharp spines used to capture its prey. It lives on the muddy seabed along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is common in the Adriatic often being caught for food.
