Leopard gecko

This animal originates from the area of Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and India, and inhabits deserts and dry grasslands. It eats live insects as well as fruit such as papaya, mango and kiwi. It must always have a supply of water though it can rarely be seen drinking.

The interesting thing about leopard geckos is that they should never be picked up or have their tails pulled as this will fall off. The tail will grow again however, although it will not be like the first one. Furthermore, unlike other geckos, this one has movable eyelids and no footpads so it cannot climb.
